How to make a boring top not boring

As mentioned in the previous post, I made some white tops for Miss S to go with her skirts. When I showed her the finished tops one morning, she barely looked at them. I was thinking, “Gee gosh, all that work for nothing?”.

So here is what we came up with – she chose the buttons and I did the work.

Flower buttons with running stitch around the front neckline and front sleeves

Pink buttons with running stitch round the front neckline and front sleeves

Small heart button with running stitch and leaves

It did make a huge difference. Amazing what you can do with a few buttons and some coloured cotton. Also made me realise how much I love embroidery. I should really pick it up again.
