Felt Dumplings
I’ve wanted to make felt dumplings for a little while. We (well, Miss S and I) eat quite a few dumplings in our household. And I thought they would be pretty simple to make – since I knew how to make the real thing, the felt ones should be easy, right?
Hmmm… not really. Felt ones take way longer than real ones, and you can’t eat them after all that work you’ve put in!
Here are some step-by-step pictures:
- Cream felt circles, stuffing, needle & thread
- Fold a felt circle in half
- Make a pleat in the middle
- Make 2 more pleats
- Start stitching
- Secure the 3rd pleat
- Make 2 or 3 more pleats on the left – these pleats should face the middle
- Secure one pleat, then stuff
- Push all the stuffing in – don’t over/under fill
- Secure all the other pleats
- Done!
- Dumplings in a frying pan

Love these, I have posted a link here from my blog http://alljoinin.blogspot.com/2011/01/chinese-fortune-cookies-and-wontons.html
Hope you had as much fun making them as I did.
